He is a Fellow of Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge, and a Director of The Guild of St George.

Stigmata is a sequence of fourteen poems that explores various concepts and manifestations of love, both human and divine. The five wounds of Christ is its central symbol, but although the poem is in many senses metaphysical in its meditation on pain and passion, it is also Neo-Modernist in its method, especially in its use of juxtaposition and elliptical syntax. The result is one of Wilmer’s most profound works; restrained and exact in diction, it is both beautiful and moving.

“a brilliant piece of work, which brings honour to our time”
Sebastian Barker

“[he has] made a beautiful thing out of pain”
Jeremy Hooker
